Si terra` Venerdi` 6 Ottobre 2017 a Monterotondo (RM), la prima presentazione di Chackpoint Charlie, il nuovo romanzo di Michele Iacono, edito dalla casa editrice americana Hoffmann & Hoffmann e distribuito da Ingram content, tramite Messaggerie in Italia. Il romanzo sara` pubblicato negli states a fine anno con il titolo "The Artist" e la traduzione di Giusi Nigro. L`evento di Monterotondo e` organizzato da "L'angolo di Amelie", Daniele Galimberti.

 L'Autore

Michele Iacono e` uno scrittore di Termini Imerese (PA) con all'attivo 2 libri, un saggio : "Il silenzio, il segno e la parola" ed un romanzo : " Il bambino senza tempo".
Oltre ad essere uno scrittore di talento, Michele Iacono e` anche un raffinato pittore nonche` educatore sociale ma lui ama definirsi : "Curatore di bonsai." 
Alla presentazione del libro si terra` anche un vernissage dove si potranno visionare alcune delle sue opere.

Il libro:

Checkpoint Charlie e` un romanzo attuale anche se tratta una tematica senza tempo. Il protagonista e` un pittore squattrinato che si ritrova ad attraversare un confine (Checkpoint Charlie) , quello della nostra morale, che si pone a livelli piu` o meno diversi a secondo del nostro grado di coscienza.
Sullo sfondo l'Italia nei suoi stereotopi, nel suo provincialismo e frammenti di filosofia, si intrecciano in uno scenario di monumenti alla cultura e dramma dell'immigrazione.


 "Immaginò di vedere riflesso in quelle scure acque un armonico corpo, e si mise a ridere, anzi, a sogghignare, quando si trovò a seguire con gli occhi le ipotetiche linee delle forme della sua por­tinaia, grassa e flaccida, con le caviglie gonfie e gli occhi di fuori, o quelle del barbiere all’angolo della via in cui abitava, smilzo curvo e ossuto, dall’alito irrancidito, la cui immagine ricordava i disegni laterali delle figure egiziane. Formulò l’ipotesi stramba che qualcuno avesse usato un cavatappi per infilare nel corpo, l’anima!

«Altrimenti come la mettevi dentro?» Gli scappò. Per forza dovevano averlo usato: se l’anima era pura, come si affermava, non ne avrà voluto sapere di stare tra visceri puzzolenti e organi malati, per non restare corrotta, sciolta tra gli acidi."
